Say Hi to the Ferrari F8 Tributo

It seems was four years ago that Ferrari replaced its naturally aspirated 458 by the turbo 488 GTB. Now we say goodbye to the 488 to welcome the brand new Ferrari F8 Tributo.

Ferrari F8 Tributo: A homage to itself

That’s right, the name is not “triturbo” (it would be cool a tri-turbo Ferrari, though), Tributo or tribute in Italian is an homage to both the model’s uncompromising layout and to the engine that powers it.

The engine is a 3.9-Liter twin-turbocharged V8 delivering nothing less than 720 brake horsepower and 770 Nm of torque. It is 50 horsepower and 10 Nm of torque more than the 488 GTB.

These numbers reflect in an amazing performance. The Ferrari F8 is able to accelerate from inertia to 100 km/h in 2.9 seconds while it hits the 200 km/h mark in 7.8 seconds and if it continues to accelerate 340 km/h is the limit.

It is 0.1 seconds quicker than the GTB in the 0-100 km/h acceleration, 0.5 seconds in the 0-200km/h, and 10 km/h faster. And 40 kg lighter.

Like the 488 GTB and the LaFerrari, the F8 Tributo is designed by Ferrari Styling Centre and you can see the new aggressive visual that this Prancing Horse has.

The front end looks sick. It has been redesigned to generate even more downforce than that on the 488 Pista. The F8 features the S-duct just like the Pista, and the S-duct alone is responsible for 15% of the overall downforce increase. The headlight has a new very aggressive design and incorporates new brake cooling intakes.

The rear end features a new Lexan screen that showcases the awarded V8 engine while the louvers help extract hot air from the engine compartment without impacting the efficiency of the blown spoiler which has been further evolved to increase downforce generated at the rear. Oh, and the taillights are twice as good.

The interior is very Ferrari, it is very similar to the 488 but with a smaller steering wheel, round air vents, a slightly modded tunnel as well as an 8.5″ passenger touchscreen display.
