Lamborghini has not revealed the new Huracan Performante to the public just yet but the Sant’Agata guys released some details of the brand new V10-powered baby bull.
On March 1st, Lamborghini dropped a video showing its brand new car setting a new Nurburgring lap time record for the production vehicles. The Lamborghini Huracan Performante set 6:52.01 or about 5 seconds faster than the Porsche 918 Spyder which set 6:57 in 2013.
To know how the hell Lamborghini managed to perform this feat (some are saying it’s thanks to video editing) here’s the new details of the cars.
The Lamborghini Huracan Performante carries a more powerful version of the 5.2-liter naturally aspirated V10 engine which generates 640 hp and 442 lb-ft of torque.
Lamborghini also managed to remove 88lbs of bad fat or about 40 kg less. And, as a good track-focused supercar, the new Lamborghini Huracan Performante uses an “Active Aerodynamics” which reacts in 500ms to control downforce. The car is said to hit 62 mph in just 2.9 seconds and overcome the 202 mph barrier (325 km/h) at its top speed. You can see it going over 186 on the ‘ring.
The exhaust system is all new allowing 70% of the total torque by 1000 rpm. The chassis is 15% stronger while the suspension gets more spring pressure and thicker sway bars.
New display for the driver and race seats are optional for the interior. The base price has been set at $274,390.
