Hennessey unveils its 1600 HP Venom F5

Hennessey brings to the world a new machine in order to exceed the top speed of 300 mph (482 km/h).

With one and only goal in mind, to be fast,  the Hennessey Venom F5 has a new design, new chassis, a body made of carbon fiber, and an extremely powerful V8 which manages to put more power out than the Bugatti Chiron and the Koenigsegg Regera.

The rear-mounted V8 twin-turbo is said to be able to produce 1600 HP “carried” to the rear wheels through a 7-speed single-clutch paddle-shift transmission. The huge power allied with a curb-weight of just 2,950 lbs (1,338 kg) creates a beast able to accelerate from zero to 186 mph (300 km/h) in less than 10 seconds.

In the words of the CEO and founder of the company, John Hennessey, the Venom F5 is expected to be the first road car capable of achieving more than 300 mph.

Named for the most powerful tornado speed winds on the Fujita scale, the Venom F5 doesn’t promise only hit over 300 mph at top speed but also promise to smash the 0-400-0 time of both Bugatti Chiron and Koenigsegg Agera RS, accelerating to 249 mph (400 km/h) and braking to a standstill in less than 30 seconds.

Hennessey is planning to build only 24 units of its Venom F5, which will cost over $1.6 million.
