And how fast it goes.
Since Ford released the new GT in 2015 at Detroit Motor Show, the American automaker is keeping the specs in secret, but now the Ford guys revealed a few information of the supercar to Motor Trend.
The information here, I mean, the output of the new 3.5-liter EcoBoost V6 engine and the top speed which the new Ford GT manages to hit.
The new V6 engine EcoBoobs pumps 647 hp out at 6,250 rpm and a maximum torque of 550 lb-ft at 5,900rpm. 90 percent of peak torque is available from 3,500rpm. The power is taken to the rear wheels through a seven-speed dual-clutch transmission that can take the Ford GT to a top speed of 216 mph (348 km/h).
Ford yet released the dry weight of the car which is (at this point) around 3,050 pounds or 1,383 kg.
Furthermore, Ford put a Ferrari 458 Speciale and a McLaren 675LT ( both purchased as benchmark evaluation vehicles) on track at Calabogie Motorsports Park, Canada with the same driver on the same day and the GT is said to have lapped the 3.1-mile circuit in 2:09.8, while the McLaren 675LT made in 2:10.8 and the 458 Speciale in 2:12.9.
